Bored

It’s silly, but we’re bored out of our minds.

We’re not supposed to go anywhere. Everything is closed. I could try to work but I’m totally not in the mood and can’t concentrate.

Today we went to get fuel (over which there is a panic for reasons we don’t quite understand) and groceries (water, milk and bread are limited to 1 per person). That was very exciting, pfff. It was awful to walk through the supermarket that showed substantial damage (half the wine bottles were gone and most of the ceiling had disappeared), but it is nice to have fresh fruit and vegetables again and a monstrous stock of spaghetti.

I’ve arranged most of the fieldwork accommodation. It feels utterly weird to go on a fieldtrip now, especially when all my fieldsites are on the Alpine Fault, due for a big and devastating earthquake between now and the next few hundred years.

Here a nice visualization of the earthquakes since September 4th
