OK

I am, still, ok!
it is 5am and I just woke up to a MAJOR earthquake (in my experience). Godverdomme people, sorry for wswearing, but it is fucking scary. The whole house literally shook, and is still shaking, in afterquakes. It shook the first time for minutes, it shook me out of bed, I ran to the living room

Don;t know how bad this is on the westcoast but sure as hell happy Im not there

everything sti.ll seems to function!

So don;t worry yet... hope there won't be a tsunami. If you wory more now, please don;t.
The radio is not even maing a mnention of this but continuing its midnight blabla noone wants to hear, some neighbours nare outside, sure ll are awake, but no doom and mayhem yet. I guess i is slightly normal./..

I am tetrribly scared, i'm shaking, not just because of the swaying earth

Update: Radio says 7.4 Richter quake 7 km SE of CHCH, a rolling motion. So things may be worse at work. NO tsunami warning. Some parts of Chch without power, not me. Things are still swaying an shaking still. Did I say I'm scared yet? My house is creaking. Luckily its lousy plywood won;t kill me when it collapses. Guess THAT is why they build so cheap...

Probably will keep updating as I can't sleep: "the shocks keep coming", but radio tells us NOT to panic.

Even here they call it HUGE, so I guess I'm supposed to feel a wee bit scared. Every one seems to be ok though, just lots of broken cutlery, some broken windows, rips and holes in roads, some water & power out. And still, almost continuously my world gently rolls ...

next update: can't connect via telephone to Europe. May be that everyone is phoning their relatives?! It cannnot be that both my parents and thomas are all on the phone at the same time, especially given that my parents hardly use their phones ...

Darn, want to talk to someone... Feeling less scared though, radio is nice, giving everyone's updates and saying don't panic. But I wish it would stop. Too jumbled up to go back to bed although it is cold and I am tired. Is as if being on a train or so, constant movement, really weird
