All 170 samples are prepped (last dilutions this morning!)
All beakers, bottles, syringes, filters, columns, frits’es, and centrifuge tubes I used are cleaned
70 samples have been evaporated in the SWM and given more or less trustworthy data
About 2 thirds of elemental analyses have been run
I prepared stuff for all the remaining elemental analyses, and for half of the remaining SWM work.
I took a total of 3 hours “weekend” in which I enjoyed sunshine in the Arboretum over the past 4 weeks
I had a fierce and nasty email fight with someone who shall remain unnamed in NZ about “the amount of working hours a scientist is expected to work”
I also had sangria and pizza last night with Joel, Jamie, Cindy and Hazel, and a last snuggle with the cats.
Now it is on to Aussie. First Brisbane where I meet up with my friend Peter, then Perth for another conference. Believe it or not, I will miss the lab! And the dirty chai’s. Let’s see how Aussie baristas react when I order one there.
