Define "Long-Term"

A post doc position advertisement:
"The Department of Ecology is offering a Long-term Post-Doc Position"

Further reading informs us that "the post-doc will analyse existing long term (> 25 years) ecological data"

And then at the end:
"Contract type: Temporary, The appointment will be on a temporary basis for a maximum of almost 4 years"

How is this a "long-term post-doc"?! I am tempted to think they meant "a post-doc position in long-term ecology", instead of describing almost 4 years as long-term. I know that a lot of post-doc positions are only 1 year, or even less, but that doesn't make 4 years a long-term position.

Additionaly I don't think ecological studies that span less than my age are "long-term" ...
