Garden City
Although Christchurch remains a bloody war-zone with buildings still being torn down everywhere, the botanic gardens also remain Chch's pride. Nevermind that tulips and daffodils aren't native to NZ (see previous post), I understand why the Europeans imported them to feel "at home".
